Haha – I guess you can tell from the article that we don’t normally frequent the pricey places. Thanks for stopping by Steven.

The portions going out are obscene. We do this with appetizers, salads and then the main meal. Some pricey places may charge for splitting but who cares.

To each his own 🙂 I generally am OK with leftovers if they don’t get all mushy… gotta have that texture!

Since I don’t like to cook I’ll also order and take home half for the next day. I don’t understand how some people hate leftovers. I love them!

This also increases the enjoyment in restaurants. You know you cannot eat several different dishes. But if you share plates you can taste several dishes that increases your satisfaction.

Actually, I don’t understand families not sharing dishes. Think about a family with three children. The other day, I saw a family bought 5 different turkey legs in one of the amusement parks. I watched them carefully. At the end all five of them threw their meals half eaten. It is such a waste. My wife would have bought only three and break them down to go around. No wasted food or money. How could it be wrong?

True – if you like different things then this won’t work 🙂 I always feel bad taking most things home as leftovers as I know they’ll usually taste much worse the next day (texture-wise I guess). Thanks for commenting!

It usually lasts for lunch leftovers for a couple of days after that. I do think sharing a plate with certain people would work out well. You just have to have the same taste in food!

I’m the same way! I hate to waste food and feel pressured to finish all of it. By sharing, we can ensure nothing goes to waste 🙂

It’s a double win – saving money and not feeling stuffed 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
