In reply to Thomas | Your Daily Finance. I've started experimenting with the military showers and they seem to work great. For whatever reason, it actually only takes me about half the time to shower when I turn the water off. I've been much more diligent around turning off the yard lawn sprinklers as well this year when rain is expected.

Nice simple tip and it really would save money but I think just water in general. Like Tim mentioned the showers and even washing dishes. Just turn the water off or use less maybe but it on a timer. We actually started saving by turning off our sprinklers.

I’ll have to experiment with that. I know showering uses 7-10 times as much water as brushing your teeth with the faucet running…

Showering is the most ideal actually… it’s called a military shower and I do it all the time. I have noticed with my family, it saves us about $15 per month!
