Sharon,

Exactly! The barriers to entry are so low, and there is still a lot of money to be made in on-line business. Current brick-and-mortar businesses would be foolish to overlook this inexpensive option to increase exposure!

Having an on-line presence is become vital for the small business owner.

Lisa,

Yeah, if you don’t use it you lose it! But, it does come back pretty quickly if you jump head first into it. HTML/CSS really isn’t all that hard – I usually get stuck on the real simple things though…

I’ve since forgotten mostly everything. How I wish I retained all of that knowledge!

Brock,

I don’t really expect to get paid for helping either, but if you can identify a win-win solution, then I say you should go with it 🙂 In my case, it’s one more website I can add to my resume. In your case, you get more practice and experience cooking and working the BBQ angle. I think the catering business is a great side hustle that you could pull off on the weekends for weddings and such. You should check into it!

Although sometimes helping out a family member with your skills can help you think of an idea you could use to make money. For instance, by making food for family outings, someone suggested I should start a BBQ catering business. That thought has been rolling around in my head a lot lately. 🙂
